Hello,

Just to clarify - are you asking if the API is always hosted at a static IP address?

Hi, would anyone know if there is an agreement betweek companies and DoubleClick for IP address or if they provide an IP range that we could use? I'm asking because my company needs to set up rules on the firewall to allow traffic and it has to be through IP addresses, not DNS. We could use the existing one but if it gets changed our process will start to fail.

Much appreciated, thanks!

Hi Joseph,

Yes. You can see it that way. More questions will follow depending on your answer.

Much appreciated,
GH.

Hey Guille,

I don't think we can guarantee that the IP address of the API will never change. We don't publicize any specific IP ranges our APIs may be located at, either.

Hi Guille,

I double checked with the team and we don't have such a mechanism. We've set up our API to be discoverable by its hostname.

Understand. Do you have a mechanism that would send out a notice that the IP changed? My company has very strict rules since is financial, and we would need to add a spoofing rule to allow traffic to DoubleClick, but this can only be done by IP address, either static IP address or we can put a range of IPs.

Thanks!

Hi,

I have the same problem. Could you please let me know how you could figure out all the IP addresses needed for the DFA Reporting API to open firewall?

Thanks

Hey all,

We don't commit to having static IP addresses for our APIs; they can change if a need arises. If your firewall doesn't support trusting a domain name and letting the DNS take care of the rest, the only recommendation I can offer would be to periodically ping our hosts (for the DFA Reporting API, www.googleapis.com) and see what IPs come back.
