I've stumbled upon a few other random articles regarding this, so it seems like we're not the only ones; basically one of our domains is yielding DoubleClick's click through URL (e.g., ddm/trackclk...) to a "HTTP 204 No Content" / blank page, rather the normal 301/302 redirect to the partner's page. This occurred 2 weeks ago (Mid June 2025) just for one of our domains with the rest working normally - this is purely being controlled on the HTTP/header "referrer"; if I force any other domain into the referrer it works... but if it's the specific one it goes to 204...

Only solution thus far is if I assign ref="noreferrer" to the a href link, then redirect works.

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to the DCM API support team.

We understand you're encountering an issue where one of your domains is leading to an "HTTP 204 No Content" page when using DoubleClick's click-through URL, rather than the expected 301/302 redirect. You've also noted that this behavior is specific to a particular referrer domain and that adding ref="noreferrer" resolves the issue.

To help us investigate this further, could you please provide more detailed information about the problem? Specifically, we need to understand if this issue is related to the DoubleClick Campaign Manager (DCM) API.

Could you please elaborate on:

  • How are you generating these DoubleClick click-through URLs? Are you using the DCM API or another method?
  • The exact API calls you are making (if any) that relate to these click-through URLs.
  • Complete API request and response logs (latest) if you are interacting with the DCM API. This will help us identify any errors or unexpected responses from the API itself.
  • Request body & URL with path param values

The more information you can provide, especially regarding any API interactions and corresponding logs, the better we can assist you in diagnosing and resolving this issue.

Thanks,

Thanks for the quick reply. I believe those URLs are being generated in CM360 and provided to us by our partners whom are CM360 clients.

Hi,

As requested earlier, can you confirm whether you are DCM API or DCM UI and facing this issue? Kindly note that we don't have any details to further check what the issue is exactly on? As you have mentioned issues regarding the click-through URLs, I would recommend you to refer to this help center article for more detailed information. In order to further investigate, I would request you to provide the complete details regarding the issue and along with the uncropped screenshots by highlighting the issue details to further assist you better. Additionally, I would request you to share a few sample URLs for which you are encountering this issue. Please note that we can only assist with technical issues or concerns related to the DCM API. Any issues related to the DCM product interface or UI fall outside the scope of support provided by the DCM API team.

You can send the details via Reply privately to the author option, or direct private reply to this email.

Here is an active trackclk URL that was generated by DCM:

For validation sake, here are screenshots from Postman showing the HTTP referer header with two different domains. One returning the 204 No Content and one returning 200 OK (which contains the redirect).

Hi,

Yes, you are correct. The concern you’ve raised falls outside the scope of the DCM API support team, as we only handle issues specifically related to the DCM API. This matter is better suited for the DCM Product support team. Note that we don't have any specific email address or contact number to reach out to the DCM Product support team. However, I kindly request you to share the Network ID (which refers to the Campaign Manager network, equivalent to the partner ID in Display & Video 360), so we can direct your request to the appropriate support team for further assistance.

You can send the details via Reply privately to the author option, or direct private reply to this email.
