Dear community

looking at the information of the campaign resource, I can see no reference to Lookback Windows: https://developers.google.com/doubleclick-advertisers/rest/v4/campaigns

However, in the CM360 UI, within the properties section, there is the availability to override the lookback window values inherited from the advertiser level.

Given that the campaign resource has no reference to this overriden values at campaign level, how can we fetch this information via API? Is it even possible?

We are also creating placements via the API and it seems that if there is a lookback window override at campaign level, it is only applied to new placements created "manually" but not via the automated creation via API. Is anybody aware of this gap as well?

thank you!!

Hello Raul,

Michael here from DCM API Team. Thank you for reaching out to us.

Would you be able to share to us the screenshot of how you do this in CM360 UI side so we can have better illustration of what you are trying to do and to give a precise guidance on your concern.

Regards,

Dear Michael

thanks for your prompt response. Here I am attaching some screenshots

CAMPAIGN LOOKBACK WINDOWS.PNG shows the floodlight lookbackwindow override at campaign level

However the campaign resource in the API does not contain any information on the lookback window!

I then wonder where is this information stored and how can it be retrieved

hope this helps,

thank you and kind regards

Hello Raul,

Thank you for providing the requested details.

This feature from the UI does not seem to be available in the API. So, I will have to raise this as a feature request to our wider team. However, for the meantime, would you be able to share your use case in business terms for this feature? How this will provide ease in your workflow if this will be implemented in the API?

Regards,

Hello

so our use case is that we create all objects (campaign, placement, creatives) in CM360 via API, so we expect same behaviour of API calls as if we would do things manually. However, if we cannot see some elements available in the API Rest Resource, then it forces us to mix both automated and manual processes to traffic campaigns. Hope you understand the inconvenience on our side

This leads to the second question of my original email:  We are also creating placements via the API and it seems that if there is a lookback window override at campaign level, it is only applied to new placements created "manually" but not via the automated creation via API. Is anybody aware of this gap as well?

Is there any reason why the override at campaign level is not inherited at placement level for new placements created via API?

thanks

Hello Raul,

Thank you for your response.

I have raised a feature request for the availability of floodlight lookbackwindow override at campaign level in the API. You may follow our release notes or blog post for future updates.

On the other hand, with regards to your other concern below:

Would you be able to share a sample of complete API request and response that shows the reported behavior above? Kindly include the profile ID used in request call and your DMC Account ID so we can raise this to the rest of our team as well.

Kindly share to us the requested details privately via "Reply To Author" button.
