Current behavior:

CM360 web UI shows empty click through URL for creative assignment, when creative assignment is created via REST API. API returns correct custom url for same ad. Please see attached screenshots:

Web UI view of creative assignment landing page:

Debugger view of same ad returned via API:
Screenshot 2021-05-06 at 10.14.36.png

Also hosted creative preview screen navigates to creative default landing page instead of custom landing page which is set in creative assignment for an ad.

Expected behavior:
1. When creative assignment custom landing page is created via REST API, web UI should show it like that (custom landing page is shown correctly only when its created via web UI):
Screenshot 2021-05-06 at 10.21.44.png
2. Click on hosted creative preview would navigate to overridden landing page from creative assignment instead of default hosted creative landing page.

Also, is there another way to test if landing page is overridden correctly for certain creative assignment? Would like to know if my ads will have incorrect landing page or is it just a bug in CM360 web UI.

Hi,

I am using java DFA reporting client, gradle dependency with version: 'com.google.apis:google-api-services-dfareporting:v3.4-rev3-1.25.0'. To obtain the ad I am simply calling: 'dfareportingClient.ads().get(PROFILE_ID, adId).execute()'. Please find attached json serialized com.google.api.services.dfareporting.model.Ad instance request which I send to CM360 API using 'dfareportingClient.ads().update(PROFILE_ID, ad).execute()'. You will find populated clickThroughUrl field there. CM360 API response for same Ad object after update is identical to the request which confirms that clickThroughUrl update was successfull and is visible via API. After I updated ad via api, I see the reload dialog in web ui:

Screenshot 2021-05-07 at 16.39.35.png

So update event is fired properly. After page reload I still see incorrect landing page for creative assignment ("Use creative default...") AND creative preview redirects me to incorrect landing page (default for ad, not custom one)

Screenshot 2021-05-07 at 16.41.19.png

I expect to see custom landing page like this (in this example its set manually via web ui for another ad), and creative preview to navigate to new custom landing page.

Please let me know if you need any additional information.

Hi there,

Thank you for providing the requested information. One last thing, could you kindly submit a request directly to our API explorer, then confirm if the same behavior occurs? Once confirmed, I'll be raising this to the rest of the team for further investigation.

Hi there,

Thank you for your patience.

The team provided their feedback and mentioned that this is an H5 Creative Assignment, and should use the richMediaExitOverrides instead of the click through URL field.

Thank you for your reply. Is there an example how to properly set up richMediaExitOverrides? I get "12115 : A creative custom event ID is required for a rich media exit override." When I try to use it. How to properly set up banner exit URLs on AD level? As far as I understand richMediaExitOverrides are creative level overrides (that is, I can only setup richMediaExitOverrides during creation of a creative)?

Hi there,

I work with Teejay.

Thank you for responding back to us. However, with regards to your questions about H5 creative assignment and richMediaExitOverrides, it would be best to raise this to the product-support team as the product specialist there should be able to provide precise guidance on setting up richMediaExitOverrides.

Should you have any other concern specific to DCM API response, feel free to get back to us.
