Hi All,

I am completely new to DCM/DFA Reporting and Trafficking API.

Got a requirement to pull the data from "DCM/DFA Reporting and Trafficking API" and load into BigQuery by using google cloud AppEngine(Python) .

When I gone through the documents, I see the following statement.

When you work with your sales or support contact to setup access to Data Transfer v2.0, you will be provided with a bucket name, and a Google Group name used for controlling access to your data files in Google Cloud Storage. To make use of this document you will need those two things.

Is there any data which is not available in bucket( as per above statement ) but it is available through API?

If the same data is available in bucket, is there any advantage to pull the data through API?

Thanks,

Lakshmi Prathipati (DCM API Team)

Hi,

The Data transfer is event level ad serving log data. Everything else comes from the API. Could you please let me know what data you are specifically trying to retrieve from DCM/DFA Reporting and Trafficking API?

Thanks,
Lakshmi, DCM API Team

Hi,

The DT reporting and DCM reporting give different data. Data transfer is used to get the non-aggregated event level data. It is raw data directly from Adserver. The columns you are looking for are available in DCM API. Please check this link for available dimensions and metrics in DCM API.

You need to use Report services DCM API to pull this data.

Hi Lakshmi,

Thanks for your help.

The report is scheduled in GUI and I need to download the report by using Python API.

I couldn't find the exact script in github to download the report or function in DCM/DFA documents for PYTHON.

Please help me how I can download the report by using Python API.

Thanks,

Hi,

If you know the report id and file id, you need to use download_file.py sample.
If you have only the report id, then using get_report_files.py, you will get the file id. Once you have the file id and report id you can download the file with the above linked sample

In the future, please start a new thread for a new question.

Lakshmi,

Able to find the script download.py. I have another question. Is fileId will change every day when schedule the report to run every day.

My requirement is need to pull the report every day and load into BigQuery. I schedule a report in GUI and got the reportID. Is fileID keep change every day or that is also constant like reportID?

Thanks,

Hi Simarpreet,

Yes, you can get that using Planned Media Cost metric. Please check here for the available dimensions and metrics in the API and UI as well.  You will find this help center article helpful. For any further questions on Report builder, please contact DCM general support. In the future, please start a new thread for a new question/issue.

Thanks,

Hi Abdur,

There is no such feature to transfer offline report to GCP bucket using the DCM API. I forwarded your request as a feature request to the rest of the team. Please refer to the Reporting guide for the available options to download the report: https://developers.google.com/doubleclick-advertisers/guides/download_reports#python_1
