Hello,
my goal is to extract metrics (impressions, cpm, conversions) on domain/url level.
When using the "domain" dimension I get "The combination of dimensions, metrics, and filters in your report is invalid."
I've tried variety of dimensions combinations yet it won't work. I've also tried other dimensions (such as site, siteDirectory) yet those don't seem to represent a domain on the most mart.
I remember you had app/url dimension once (in the UI at least) yet I can't find it now.
Would highly appreciate your help!
Any approach for getting data on domain/url level would work.
Thank you

Hi Morana,

With regard to concern, you could use the Report Builder UI to create reports which will constantly update as you add fields, to let you know which can be used together. If the fields you added on the UI is not compatible, then this is not compatible on the API as well. You may also want to check this guide for more details on determining the field compatibility while creating reports via API.

If you have further questions regarding the report, we would recommend raising this to our Product Support support team instead. The product specialist there should be able to shed light and provide precise guidance on this. You may reach out to them through this link.

Hi, thank you for the quick response! I've tried using the UI yet I don't see "domain" dimension at all. Any chance it is no longer supported?
Could it be under a different name? (couldn't find url as well)
Thanks

Hi Morana,

I work along with Teejay.

With regards to your question with the missing "domain" dimension on UI side, it would be best if you reach out directly to our product support team as they have specialist there that is more equipped in handling this kind of issue.

Hello,

I have a similar question to Morana's. I'm attempting to pull a domain level report which I've previously been able to do under "active view", but it's no longer available as an option under metrics or anywhere else. Please advise.

Thank you!
Kate

Hello Kate,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

With regards to your concern, can you confirm if this is exact issue as the one reported by Morana on this thread? Are you creating the report in Report Builder in UI? If so, we would highly recommend reaching out to the DCM Product Support team (https://support.google.com/campaignmanager/answer/9026876?visit_id=637571474326282821-4077671228&rd=1) as they have specialists who are more equipped in handling those types of concerns.

On the other hand, if you are creating the report via the API, you may utilize the reports.compatibleFields (https://developers.google.com/doubleclick-advertisers/rest/v4/reports.compatibleFields) service to see which fields are valid given the ones you've already selected. The configuration of the report will be analyzed, and a response containing the compatible dimensions, metrics, and filters will be returned. Since the fields in this response are not all guaranteed to be compatible with one another, you may need to make multiple requests to ensure all the fields you choose will work together.

Moreover, if you are utilizing the API and the issue is persistent on your end, kindly share to us the below information so we can investigate further on our end.
  • DCM Account ID
  • Profile ID used in request call
  • Request body & URL with path param values
  • Complete API Response
  • Screenshot of the equivalent report data in UI so we can mirror the report via API on our end
