Hi,

I've been using the "generate tags" API request for quite some time now. However, recently, I've been encountering forbidden errors with the following content message: "Your user profile doesn't have permission to view floodlights."

Could you please let me know if there have been any changes to the required permissions?

Thank you.

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to the DCM API support team.

By reviewing your concern, I understand that you are facing the permission issue while using the floodlightActivities.generatetag method using the DCM API. Kindly share the following details to investigate further:
  • DCM Account Id.
  • User profile Id.
  • Complete JSON request and response logs.
  • Error screenshots (if any).

Hello,

So, actually to be accurate we are using the campaign manager sdk v4 and for generating the tags we are using the following API:
https://developers.google.com/doubleclick-advertisers/rest/v4/placements/generatetags

As we have mentioned, we are using this API for quite a long time but it seems that starting from the 31st of August something was changed in the required permissions and now this API requires permissions for viewing floodlights.

Could you please confirm the above permissions are now required for generating tags? if so, is there any forum/blog/release notes we can follow in order to be aware of such changes?

Thanks,
Ariel.

The status code we are getting is 403 with the following error:

"reason": "forbidden"
"message": "1113 : Your user profile doesn't have permission to view floodlights."

Hi Ariel,

Thank you for your patience.

As, a workaround you can apply full floodlight permission to avoid this issue for now. We will keep you informed as soon as we have any updates regarding this issue.
