Hello there.

I'm trying to manipulate campaign/placement/ad status with the CM360 api.
Yes, there are "active" parameter that takes boolean in Ads() to patch ad status.

However, in placements(), there are no "active" parameter and only have "archived" parameter to make placement archive.

Are there any reason for "active" parameter not exist in placement()?

Hello gyung-su min,

Michael here from DCM API Team.

I believe the archived field corresponds to that being active/inactive of the placements in question. This also accepts boolean value to indicate whether the said placement is being archived or not. Does this not support your use case? If so, kindly elaborate and we will raise it to our wider team as necessary.

Hello, Thank you for replying Michael.

Archived placement will be permanently closed after 60 days passes.
So there are "inactive" option for placement in CM360 UI, which can be used as an alternative to Archive.

However, I wonder why only Archived field exist in CM360 API, unlike ads field also have active field.
I can manually make placements as archive, so this questions is for just to know why.

Hello Michael,

Just wanted to chime in and say that I'm also trying to set placements to the "inactive" state rather than "archived" through the CM360 API.

Looking forward to an update!

Hello Daniel,

Hope you are doing well.

Our team have responded back to us and confirmed that this is a known feature gap that has been addressed in the latest release of the API v4.0. There is a field called activeStatus that contains the information about whether the field is active, inactive, archived, or permanently archived. For more information, kindly check here.

Regards,
