Cannot deploy a Deep Learning VM instance

Hi,

I have tried to deploy a Deep Learning VM image with Tesla P100 and Tesla V100 in zones asia-east-1-a and asia-east1-c multiple times.

I get this error.

tensorflow-1-vm: {"ResourceType":"compute.v1.instance","ResourceErrorCode":"ZONE_RESOURCE_POOL_EXHAUSTED","ResourceErrorMessage":"The zone 'projects/complete-treat-245403/zones/asia-east1-a' does not have enough resources available to fulfill the request. Try a different zone, or try again later."}

I have a quota of 1 GPU globally and I am trying to use only 1 GPU. Can you please suggest?

This is kind of urgent.

Hello,

I had a similar problem on the day you posted it, but it seems to be resolved now. I was able to deploy a VM with 4 vCPUs and a Tesla P100 GPU in us-central1-a

Hello Zetong,

It's working for me now. Maybe you want to check the quota for region you are trying to deploy your VM in. At times, that's something that might not let you deploy a VM.

You need to change the region. Some region don't all resources.

Such error usually occurs  when the region has excessive VM demands & shortage of infra at GCP on that zone/region. You should try a different region (USA for example) or you can try your luck some other time (but most likely you'll get the same error).
