why cant I see the whole message?

when I click on a message I only get the first line of the message
followed by ...

something I like about google's gmail notifier is I can read the
entire message without having to open the browser..

Are you talking about Gmail Notifier that sits in the tray? Back then
it could read only first lines of the message to.

The reason for that is this is what is available in RSS feed which is
the only source Gmail Notifier uses. I will check if it changed.

If you are talking about Email gadget for Google Desktop than it works
using completely different approach, and has it's own limitation
because of that. I don't thing there is a point in rewriting. it.
