Read-Only Feeds

Are there read-only feeds and, if so, is there a way to distinguish
these from other feeds that support insert/update/delete? For example,
in the Google Base API, the Snippets feed seems to be read-only.

If there are read-only feeds, it would be great to have this
explicitely documented in the JS Docs somewhere - or maybe a JS
property on the Entry/Feed indicating that it is read only.

This to avoid having to invoke insert/update/delete on entries/feeds
in order to determine which operations are supported.

There currently isn't support for read-only feeds, but it is something
we are investigating. This is something that would be added at the
protocol level (perhaps with a custom scope parameter).
