Google Cloud SQL + Minimum spend

Hi

I've been reading the documentation, and it states that I need to enable billing to enable the free trial of google cloud SQL.
However, in another piece of documentation, it says there is a minimum of $2.10 spend per week when you enable billing on a project.

Will this minimum charge apply if the single service being used is the free google could SQL instance?

The $2.10/week is true for App Engine applications [1] which is independent from enabling the billing for an apis/console project. If in your project you only have Cloud SQL enabled and you only used the free tier then you should incur no cost.
