Testing google fitness API without verification

Hi,

I'm very new to the Google Cloud Platform. I want to test the Google Fitness API but each time I call for the URL, it requires authentication credentials.

I read from https://support.google.com/cloud/answer/7454865?hl=en

that apps in development don't have to go through verification.

How do I test the API without verification? Or can someone point me to a tutorial?
