How do you delete the Firebase Demo Project from my GC Console's project list?

Cheers

Hey Tin,

Welcome to the forum!

From the Firebase console in the left side menu, pressing the gear icon next to Overview will reveal Project settings.  From there, scrolling to the bottom reveals a Delete project button.  You can use that to accomplish what you seek.

Nicholas,

For some reason I do not have the correct permissions to delete the project. It also has a separate billing credential that also cannot be deleted from my account. Has this happened elsewhere? I'd really like to remove it.

I followed Nicholas' instructions, but seem to have the same issue as Alec. No option to delete the 'demo project', permissions issues and 'view only' on the demo project even though it is listed in my projects.

I would like to:

1) understand what's going on. I'm confused about how firebase / cloud consoles work together and permissions.
2) delete / unlink the firebase demo project from my account.

Any further suggestions I could try? Places I could look?

Thanks H.

Hi guys,

Tried to resolve this myself, but it seems any test / demo project is off limits. I reviewed the admin section in roles in both google cloud and google apps since I am a super user. I may take this up to support to make this possible , will post here. But if anyone solved this post back.

All the best - O

Still here, still have the firebase demo enabled. Oh well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I've just found how to fix it....

So if you go to your project overview to see all your firebase projects, under the plus that you use to make new project... there is a use a demo firebase button..

Click that and then inside that project console you should see a exit button at the top... after you click exist it will disappear

I'm also in the same boat. After running firebase init - it seemed like it created something, but then instead of letting me configure it, it just said that I should make one but in the mean time a temporary one will be used.

Upon entering console for firebase I wasn't able to see this project that was created for me, however after going to cloud console this demo firebase project was in the list. (and receiving requests too!!!) I tried to atleast remove keys or the instance to stop it using resources but i'm locked out for permissions across the board.

If we can rectify this asap that would be good.

Brilliant. Thank you for posting this solution.

To clarify, you have to visit:

(NOT console.cloud.google.com. You don't seem to be able to delete or 'exit' firebase demo projects from cloud console, but you can see them.)

Yes thats correct on the firebase console. Starting on the page where it shows all your firebase projects. Under the big + (plus) sign that you use to create new project there is a button for seeing project using 'demo' project (here's a screen pic: https://snag.gy/4vP6E7.jpg). Once you go inside that you'll see the exit button along the top.

The Project Demo Screen is different now at (https://console.firebase.google.com ), the exit demo button is at the top of the screen now (as of 02/09/18), After clicking exit demo, this removed the demo project from GC.

Thanks.
