Hello,

I understand that you have an inquiry about how to set up a custom domain to trigger a cloud function.

Currently, the only way to map a custom domain to your HTTP/S triggered Cloud Functions is by using Firebase Hosting.

After creating the custom domain, you can configure the domain to handle HTTPS/S triggered Cloud Functions.

I hope this was not too brief but if you have any follow up questions, please reply to this thread. I’m sure that there are others, who have the same scenario.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you.

Hello!
I have an express server sitting in a google cloud function, and would like a custom domain to map to it (e.g app.domain.com).
Firebase hosting is not possible, since it needs to be a function in us-central1. The server needs to interact with our firestore database, which is in europe-west.
Is there any other way of setting this up?
Thank you and best wishes,
Denis

You are right, Firebase Hosting supports Cloud Functions in us-central1 only, as detailed on the "Serve dynamic content and host microservices with Cloud Functions" documentation page. We cannot alter this limitation for now, which may well change in time.
