Beam/Python to BigTable - Empty table

Dear BigTable group,

I am trying to write from Beam/Dataflow into BigTable, but get empty tables.

I've raised a ticket to the Beam user list and to the Issue tracker. Also, this issue has been reported on Stack Overflow in 2020 already, still unsolved.

Is that a known bug ?

Is the combination Python/Beam to BigTable rather exotic or actually stable ?

Or would you instead recommend using the Java connector within Python ?

Hi All,

I found that the creation of column families prior to the writing was required. Without that, the BigTable remains empty, though without an error getting raised.

The missing error issue was merged with a known issue and a working solution has now been provided.
