Finer administrative area granularity

Something that would be very useful to me is finer administrative area granularity. For example, take the Secretary of State vs. a university regent. The ocd id in both cases is 

"ocd-division/country:us/state:mi".

The admin level for both is "administrativeArea1". And the role for both is "governmentOfficer". In other words, they are indistinguishable except by rooting thru the office name for some indicator like the word "university".

I think this is a mistake. The Secretary of State's realm of authority/administration is the entire state while the university trustee's realm is just that university. I think they should have different admin levels. It would certainly help when it comes to separating them for display purposes.

The Google Civic Information API is not meant for that. It's meant to keep people voting in larger elections.

You can pay several services for that granularity of data, but you won't find it with this product.

Google is not incompetent. The lack of granularity is a feature, not a bug - they would not  want to be part of civic participation beyond voting. The design is to have voters - not candidates or further participation.

Furthermore, there are  only a handful of states that have public state university regents elected - I don't think you'll ever see that data on the Google Civic API.
