When calling the `representativeInfoByAddress` endpoint, we are noticing that there is a field for the profile picture of the representative. However, the profile_picture is populated for only 2832 of 48,703 records. Testing 10 randomly. I get a number of 404's, i.e. broken links.

We use this data to help our community get in touch with their representatives and would like to put a face to a name.

Is this data point supported by the API? Can you give some insight into why that particular field is so sparsely populated? How is the data generated. Will this data point be supported in the future? Are there plans to backfill the data?

Also: We are finding that post redistricting, that many of the phones, emails that used to be present for state assembly members are no longer present. Will these data points continued to be present? Are there plans to backfill this data? Many kind thanks,

Hi Kas,

I ran into the same problem myself as I was building https://pleb.us and I ended up fetching profile pictures from officeholders' Wikipedia and social media profiles.

Wikipedia alone will get you ~3300 profile pictures. Here's an example API request.

Good luck!

Thanks, Goran. Still love to know if this data point will be supported or not.

Ditto on this, even the image info for the President and Vice-President seems to be missing...

Hi there,

Any chance we can get an official answer on this thread as to whether phone, email and profile picture will be supported in representative data going forward?

Many kind thanks.

love the move to wikipedia.

in my opinion that is where any/all of us can contribute to this dataset.
and it should be used over this api.
wikipedia api > this one

Wikipedia is great for state and federal reps, but the coverage is not entirely there for local reps. Starting a new thread on having this group of people crowd source the phone, email, and profile picture.
