Hi Folks,

Another dumb question. Is there a published matrix that shows all the ocdId search parameters (such as country/state/place/cd/sldu/sldl....) as well as what politician title will fall under each role - such as State Legislative Upper District Chamber (sldu) equates to State Senate? Sorry, I flunked Civics :)

Thanks, Derek

There is not, but it's not hard to discern. Here's the main OCDID repository:

The main ones I work with are here:

OCDIDs with the cd: prefix are for congressional districts, so members of congress. sldu: stands for State Legislative District Upper and is therefore equivalent to State Senate (though, in states with multi-member districts, state representatives will be returned with the legislatorLowerBody role). sldl: is State Legislative District Lower and is therefore equivalent to State House/Assembly.

The higher level, state: will contain state-level officials like Senators and Governors.

Thanks, Jason. I saw some definitions on Census.gov after I posted. I appreciate the help.
