I am a linux administrator; and have a requirement to install a couple of Google products on our Red Hat 7 baseline.
We have the Google Earth EC product installed, and can successfully/gracefully and easily repeatedly update this product; a good thing for engineering.
However, when it comes to Google Chrome browser, there is a new challenge and a different set of requirements every since time we try to download a browser RPM.
We have to provide these packages to machines on an isolated network; with no capability of "phone home." We have to have a strict control over the various products that we install on our baselines; which as I mentioned before is nothing but non-stop problems every time we look at upgrading Google Chrome.
Is it not possible to simply download the RPM appropriate for the target OS we need?
Any guidance/help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
