At Google I/O the Cloud9 team had heard about an embedded dev tools interface. We want to get that into C9 -- is it still a WIP? I searched here and didn't see anything.

Cheers!

Perhaps you can explain at bit more about what you mean by "embedded"?

There are two devtools interfaces available:
websockets: https://developers.google.com/chrome-developer-tools/docs/remote-debugging#remote
extension api:
https://developers.google.com/chrome-developer-tools/docs/remote-debugging#extension

The latter can be accessed via postMessage to a chrome-extension
iframe, for example:
https://github.com/johnjbarton/crx2app
or
https://github.com/johnjbarton/devtoolsExtended

I believe I misunderstood the nature of the conversation as I see in the resources you pointed me to, there are ways to embed the native interface in an external application. I'm not sure what I heard but I understood it to be a new feature. I'll have to ask other members of the C9 team.

Thanks John!
