session cookie expiration date

I am trying to find out the date that a session cookie expires-a session cookie sent by PHP.

As such I go to the resource tab and in the pane in the left the section about the cookie...

My question relates with the expires/max-age column....no date is displayed but the word session.

Why that?

If I am not mistaken, a session is a browser session - it ends when you exit the browser (unless you use the "Continue where I left off" feature, and then it sort of goes on indefinitely).
Only the "Continue where I left off" behavior is specific to Chrome (or maybe to Chromium based browsers), I believe, but the general notion of session cookies should apply to all of the browsers.
