Hi,

My website used to work on Chrome but now it has stopped working so I decided to use the Developer Tools Console to view any Javascript error messages that may be occurring.

However, when I try to open the Developer Tools, nothing happens. I get a "busy" mouse cursor for about one second, then nothing. This occurs whether I go to the More tools -> Developer tools menu, or press CTRL+SHIFT+I or right-click a window and choose "Inspect".

I am using the latest release version of Windows 10, 64-bit.

I have tried:

* updating Chrome to the latest version (Version 63.0.3239.132 (Official Build) (64-bit))
* uninstalling and re-installing Chrome
* resetting the Chrome settings
* resetting the Chrome flags
* checked the policy (developer tools are not disabled)
* checked the registry
* Google searches on this topic (many hits, none of them give a working solution)

I'm pretty sure Developer Tools worked last time I opened Chrome but that was some time ago.

Any suggestions how I can get it working?

Can you try running Chrome with the following flag: --auto-open-devtools-for-tabs

See https://www.chromium.org/developers/how-tos/run-chromium-with-flags for instructions on running Chrome with CLI flags on Windows.

Thanks for the suggestion but I did that and I can't see any change.

Since my last post, a new version of Chrome is available, I've updated to 64.0.3282.140 but it doesn't change anything.

I also tried running Chrome as Administrator. Once again, when I try to open developer tools, I get a busy cursor for a second and then nothing happens.

Any other ideas?

6 Apr 2019 I upgraded my Chrome and have the same problem. Tried all the above and none of it worked. Any help would be appreciated.
