Rendering - Layer Borders

Hi,

Could anyone kindly point me towards where in the dev tools source code layer borders get applied to DOM elements? In particular, I'm trying to find out where the different colored layer borders get applied, and the associated meaning of those colors. For instance, blue borders being layer squashing, olive being regular layers, etc. I've attached an image referencing the type of layer borders I'm referring to. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, if this is not the place to ask this type of question please let me know. Stack Overflow didn't seem like the right place to ask.
