I have notice the latest Chrome 60 update has caused my web application to load extremely slowly.  There were no issues prior to the latest update, everything was loading very fast so I suspect the latest chrome dev tools has something to do with this.

You can see from the screenshot, it is taking 40 seconds to load 286 requests from my local machine. A lot of the requests are stalling for ~1 second.

Does anyone have any ideas what is causing this?

Does it happen when the Developer Tools feature is closed?

No, it only happens when I have the developer tools open. When I close the developer tools it loads fast. I have tried clearing all my data(catche etc..) retsarted my PC. Still loads very slow when dev tools is open.

If you make the Network panel not listen to network events (click on the red circle to make it gray), does it load faster?

I tried your suggestion but no it didn't make it any faster. Still loading extremely slow.

You can search crbug.com for an existing issue and star it. If you cannot find one, file a new issue using the "New issue" link on the same page.
Please, do not add a "+1" or "Me too" or "Confirmed" (or similar) comment. It just wastes the time of Chrome engineers and sends unnecessary e-mails to all of the people who starred the issue.

You can reply with a link to the found or created issue and might get triaged (and fixed) faster.

Thank you.

Can you tell me what kind of machine you have....

How many cores?
How much memory?

When devtools is open it makes more IPC hops and if there are few cores on the machine the we might be relying on the OS giving a timeslice to the different processes which might be the bottle neck.

I have attached my PC specs. I have also attached a screenshot of the same scenario using the latest Firefox dev tools. It loads much quicker in Firefox.

I had the same problem, since chrome 60 the feature "Async stack traces" is standard enabled. If you check the option "Disable async stack traces" in the console settings the page loads like before. (Works for me anyway)
