Hi,

I've implemented a WIP backend implementation for debugging Android Hybrid Apps. At the moment i only implemented the debugging protocol, the static dev-tools frontend files are pulled from  http://chrome-devtools-frontend.appspot.com/static/18.0.1025.166/devtools.html by CHROME browser. Is this OK or should/(must) i bundle the devtools frontend files with my implementation?

If yes - is there a repo with just the fronend or must i clone the huge WebKit GIT repo?

BTW: If somebody is interessed in debugging hybrid apps, then take a look @ https://github.com/cyberflohr/jsHybugger

regards,

Wolf,

Very cool!

In case anyone else is curious, I tried JSHybugger out and screenshotted the results: http://i.imgur.com/hH2Pvvy.jpg

I wonder if weinre would love to have this functionality upstreamed into its project.  Seems like a good fit.

As to your question I dont know a better way to pull the frontend files that shipped in a specific Chrome version. Going against the tip-of-tree in WebKit will only increasingly diverge with a UI that's appropriate for the WebView, so what you're doing now seems best.

I'm not sure about your project using the hosted frontend files, for sure.. I'll let someone else chime in on that.

Long time ago since my last post.

jsHybugger is still using the hosted DevTools GUI, and I'm thinking about bundling the ChromeDevTools frontend with the jsHybugger jar bundle, because the website i.e. https://chrome-devtools-frontend.appspot.com/static/30.0.1549.0/devtools.html often reports access quota problems, which prevents debugging.

Is it allowed to do this?
Or should i stay with the hosted GUI approach?
In which repository are the frontend files i.e. for chrome devtools 30.0.1549.0? - blink repo?

many thanks for your help.

Yes, feel free to bundle the frontend files into your jar.
