where is the code that handles remote developer tools?

I mean what you get when you go to chrome://inspect and pick a device.

I want to confirm that the feed from the device is encoded with 4:2:2 (2x2) chroma subsampling which makes the video low quality with artifacts on many websites unfortunately. It doesn't have to be like that. I assume that VP8 is used here, which is stuck with 4:2:2 only. If that's the case, please upgrade to VP9 (or H264 if possible), which have 4:4:4 (1x1) both.

Another issue is the forced horizontal split, which I've filed a bug about.

If I'm reading this right it's actually sending JPEGs?


That's even easier to have 4:4:4 then! I notice it can also send uncompressed PNG. What's the reason it's not using those instead? I assume bandwidth or performance.

PS. By 4:2:2 I meant 4:2:0 subsampling.
