I've used local mapping successfully in the past, although it has been a while since I last made use of it. Although I have gone through the motions it doesn't seem to be working for me.

I've added a folder containing a css file I want to work on and that is showing up in the workspace.

The folder and css file show up fine in the sources panel - see screenshot below:

When I go to 'Map to Network Resource' I can find the relevant css on the server I want to map to.

But nothing seems to happen when I have selected it.

If I go into Settings and check mappings I can see the mapping seems to have been set. But the browser is clearly still working from the network file.

Any thoughts?

I think it is supposed to "work from the network file", if you mean that the browser loads the file from the network and applies the CSS information from there.
Mapping is supposed to match a URL to a local file, so that when you edit it and save it, it will save to the local file and possibly reload it from the server (it assumes the server has picked up the local changes).

Hello,
Same for me. Since Chrome 57, on the Source tab ,with Map to file system Ressource enable, the file reload all the time and save automatically. It becomes impossible to edit. What a shame because I teach a lot with this feature.

This sounds like a bug.
You can search crbug.com for an existing issue and star it. If you cannot find one, file a new issue using the "New issue" link on the same page.
Please, do not add a "+1" or "Me too" or "Confirmed" (or similar) comment. It just wastes the time of Chrome engineers and sends unnecessary e-mails to all of the people who starred the issue.

You can reply with a link to the found or created issue and might get triaged (and fixed) faster.

Thank you.
