Hi All,

Used to be, when I opened up Developer Tools, clicked on 'Elements' at
the top, and hovered the mouse over the source code of the page, the
respective item on the page would change background color. This is
*very* useful to a clueless newbie such as myself trying to figure out
sizes of divs and spans.

I've likely done something silly and turned this feature off, but I
have no idea how to turn it on again.

Can anyone help me? I don't want to have to start up firefox just to
run firebug.

That is how it's supposed to work, indeed.

There was a small bug with accelerated layers, but the fix is in the beta. Double-check your behavior in Chrome Canary... but I think you'll find things as you expect. :)

But there is, unless you are referring to other features (please, state them)?

Please, keep the list as a CC recipient so others could benefit.

I usually do not need this, I would not add it as a core feature.
But maybe others would.

Is there something built in to the Chrome developer tools that already does this?

thanks

Steven,
I made a short video on how to emulate this feature pretty easily with the devtools:
