Hi,

As a web developer I use chrome developer tools extensively on a daily basis and it's just becoming really frustrating to work with. This has been going on for the past few days

My chrome is always up to date. Current version as of this post Version 52.0.2743.116 m (64-bit)
Tried the new profile workaround and did nothing to improve performance. The current delay when selecting elements or even creating new ones (typing HTML or CSS) is horrendous.

I've tried so many things to get it to work, even reinstall my whole computer. Nothing works.

Have you tried disabling all of your extensions?

I have exactly the same issue, tried complete re-install of chrome and disabling all extensions but dev tools is still very very slow and laggy, even to the extent of showing the "unresponsive page" dialog

I have exactly the same issue.
My current version is  53.0.2785.89 m
It started a few days ago.
Even now, IE is faster.

If you undock DevTools you can open DevTools on DevTools (with Ctrl+Shift+I). Then try recording a timeline to see what is it doing.

This could be related to crbug.com/624097. If you think it does, please, help us pinpoint the issue by following instructions in comment #51.

I'm running Chrome 62.0.3202.94 (Official Build) (64-bit) on macOS Sierra 10.2. I did this to get Devtools to go at full speed:

- Ran CCleaner to clean out Chrome
- Disabled some Chrome extensions

I suspect it was the first step that did it.

Hi Dmitry,

Thanks for your report. Can you please record the performance profile for it?
Make sure you have DevTools in detached mode, then press Ctrl+Shift+I (Cmd+Alt+I on MacOS) to open DevTools on DevTools.
When just go to the performance panel and record the profile. You can share it via Google Drive or file a bug on crbug.com

Thanks,
Alexei
