Hello Everybody,

I was wondering if i could get some help (sorry if this is a stupid question)

On my system (Windows 10 Enterprise x64) i've been having problems capturing HAR files in Chrome.

The process completes the same as normal, however the file saves as a blank 0 bit file.

It's working normally if i open Chrome as administrator, but this is obviously not the intended practise.

Any ideas?

Are you using service workers? There's a known bug with service workers that caused this. I think I pushed some logic change to HAR recently. Can you try your test case on Canary and see if it still exists?

Hey there Blaise,

I understand the issue seems to have been resolved but I have encountered the same issue on my end now. I have tried to clear by browser cookies and cache but it does not seem to work. Any insights?

My HAR file has a zero byte and when opening the file using the HAR Analyzer, I was told this error:
  • Unable to process the HAR file: SyntaxError: Unexpected end of JSON input
Thank for the help!

Hi,

since yesterday, all my saved har captures are empty as well.  They data looks fine in the network viewing pane, but no saved results.

(last recent time I tried this since last week)

I see the same issue. Zero byte HAR export with Chrome  65.0.3325.181 (Official Build) (64-bit)

In my case I "Preserve log" and navigate to multiple pages.

Also, "Copy -> Copy all as HAR" also copies nothing, i.e. whatever is already in the clipboard is still present in the clipboard after the copy.

It looks like one of the DevTools engineers just put in a fix at the start of April. Can you try it out on Canary and let me know if it's fixed?
