Do some changes in developer tools with plugin?

Hey all,

I'm pretty new to contributing in Google Chrome and specifically Developer Tools, so please excuse me if I ask an stupid question somehow. 

Currently,  I need to do some changes in Google Chrome Developer Tools, I mean I need to customize it and also add some new abilities to it. How it's possible? Can I apply my changes with a plugin or add-on without compiling the Developer Tools source code?
