How do i remove the black rulers and emulation options in the viewing area WITHOUT disabling the emulation options all together?

I find it enough to be able to emulate from the dev tools itself ..

Hi Jonas,

We're currently moving away from that. The emulation options in the DevTools drawer are clunky and we plan to move them into the top bar in Device Mode completely.

As such we don't plan on having a way to remove the UI of device mode while enabling emulation features.

We could explore removing the rulers in a setting, but the rest of the UI is likely to remain, though the design is being improved.

I also think it is a bit over the top at times. The design also feels completely out of place (dark versus the rest of the user interface of the browser and even the Developer Tools feature, which is relatively bright).

Yeah, I think that's fair.

We're going to be upgrading the looks of DevTools including device mode, bringing a lot more visual polish. It'll help address these concerns, I bet.

While at it, keep in mind that it is good to be able to customize the theme (like extension authors already do right now). If you add any piece of user interface to the customizable theme feature, that would only make sense.

Dark themes are not for everyone, as are light themes.

Thank you!

Hello

I would suggest adding the option to get a screenshot of the page alone, without rules. In my team we do this all the time to send reports to they client and now we have to "shave" all the new UI manually in the pictures.

Thanks

I develop on a laptop a lot of the time and the rulers take up a big chunk of real-estate. I'd really like to be able to turn them off.

The device emulation is good but I agree, but the forced ruler area takes up a lot of screen estate and is quite annoying especially seen as though there is no obvious option to disable it. Is there any plans to include this option in a future update?

Thanks.
