DevTools inspector painfully slow and almost unusable on Mac (tested on both my Macs, a 5 y old MacBook Pro and a 1 y old iMac)

After the last Chrome update (65.0.3325.146) DevTools inspector has been extremely slow. On my newest computer, the iMac, it's so slow it's virtually unusable. The enclosed video, captured on my iMac. Chrome get's the update about midways.

I am having the exact same issue since 65.03325.146 update. I'm on a Retina iMac and there's a considerable difference when I make the Chrome window much smaller. So I am assuming it's something related to it being 4k Retina.

Fix this please, I'm having to use Firefox Developer Edition to develop now..

Please try running Chrome with a new profile (--user-data-dir command line flag or via creating new profile in the UI). We are trying to reproduce the issue.

I have the same problem with Chrome 65.0.3325.162. Developer tools are absolutely unusable. This mistake also occurred to me earlier.

I have to use a competing browser.

My iMac runs on El Capitan and no, I do not want update my system. Every update only causes problems - everywhere :-(

Exact issues in a brand new profile & Chrome install.

Same problem applies on all operating systems - Tried on Win 10, Mac (multiple versions) & linux. It started with 64.x (Don't remember the exact number). Now running 65.0.3325.162.

I tried dev tools as a guest, deleting all profiles & extensions with no luck.

Tl;DR: Color profile issue. Just visit chrome://flags/#force-color-profile in Chrome and change it to sRGB.

Can confirm as well. This is very difficult to use, it is causing my whole system to rev and heat up... Please fix this ASAP 🙏
