Morning All,

I have 1 problem that led into another problem.

We are a GSuite School
Staff use PC's, students use Chromebooks

The ICT coordinator (logged in as the gsuite user) made a video and posted it on youtube under our gsuite domain. All staff can see the video, but not students. All staff and students were using "Strict Youtube Access" under "Apps - Additional Google services - Settings for YouTube - Permissions".

I moved the students to "Moderate restricted YouTube access", this did not solve the issue.

I have since changed staff to use "Can approve videos" as i was hoping thai would allow them to pre approve videos for students to watch.

Since this change the blue "Approve" button hasn't shown up, even after i have applied the "?disable_polymer=true" to the end of  the url.

Question #1
How can i give gsuite domain students the ability to watch a yt video that i have created and tagged with "safe for children" and posted on our gsuite domain yt account?

Question #2
The #1 isnt possible, how can i make the "Can approve videos" work correctly?

Question #3
What are my other options, if any?

#3 - You could upload the video to Google Drive and share it with all domain users, adding a link to it from your LMS or however you share info with students.

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for the reply.

I did do this originally, however it causes some issues from drive due to users trying to play it or download it. I would like to avoid issues, instead of creating more. If trying to play it from drive, it doesnt seem to stream as nicely as what youtube does, plus youtube is universal and can be used on any platform, os etc

Hi Scott, I allow individual YouTube videos by adding the URL to the whitelist for the organisational unit for the group of students/ year level I want to have access to it. In a school of 600 primary students - it works as
there’s not too many clips needing to be accessed.
