GC installs fine, won't forward to Google Checkout at Final Checkout

Hi Everyone:

I've successfully installed the GC module ( v1.4.7 RC1 - 12/14/2007 ),
in my Zen Cart ( 1.3.8a ). Everything seems to work fine. However,
once an individual "finalizes" the order ( final order confirmation ),
the customer is not forwarded to Google Checkout. The page refreshes
to the main cart page.

I have the cart installed using:

PHP Version: 4.4.9 (Zend: 1.3.0)

on:

: Apache/2.2.10 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.10 OpenSSL/0.9.7a
mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited

Nothing appears in the GC logs; I don't see any error messages at any
time.

I'm hoping someone can share some insight on what might be the
problem.

Do you have response handler URL setup in your GC account?

But when you say "final order confirmation" I'm confused.

The GC mod for ZC does not use the Zen Cart checkout process (as such,
Google Checkout should not appear as a payment method option on the
Step 2 payment method page of ZC checkout).

To checkout of your shop with GC, customer clicks on the GC icon on
the ZC shopping cart page and should be immediately redirected to the
Google site for the remainder of checkout process.

Be sure to test in the GC sandbox (set the GC payment module in ZC to
use your GC sandbox account...you have to setup a separate Google
checkout sandbox account to do this).

That's the confusion. Since the mod automatically ads a "google checkout"
as a payment option, I assumed that it was completed integrated.

But GC shouldn't display on payment methods page. I suspect you had
installed a previous version of the mod and then did not completely
remove it before installing the latest version. (A much earlier
version of a template file in the the mod incorrectly displayed GC as
an option on the ZC payment methods page, where as the template file
in newer mod versions did not).

While the mod was in development Google mandated that no shop login be
required to use Google Checkout. But to get to the ZC payments page a
customer has to be logged in. Do you see the conundrum? Thus GC was
removed from the ZC checkout payment method page (but the mod is still
integrated Level 2).

GC is similar to PayPal Express Checkout in that regards.
