GC mod and ZC and PHP

Hey if you have not done so already, it's approaching the time to
upgrade your PHP 4.x install to the PHP 5.x branch, or request your
hosting provider do this for you (as of this time latest PHP 5.x
version is v.5.2.5, released Nov 11, 2007).

However PHP v.4.4.8 was released on Jan 3, 2008 to correct some
security vulnerabilities and provide some bug fixes in previous PHP
4.x version. So if you plan to stay with PHP 4.x in the short term it
is recommended that you upgrade to the latest PHP 4.x version.

Please note "official support" for PHP 4.x branch ended on Dec. 31,
2007. Therefore the v.4.4.8 release will be the LAST update for the
PHP 4.x branch.

PHP development team will only release "security fixes" for PHP 4.4 up
through August 8, 2008, that is, if a security situation arises that
warrants it. However no other types of updates will be available for
the PHP 4.x branch.

GC mod and ZC and PHP...

The development roadmap for the GC mod for ZC is not known at this
time, in particular details are unknown how the mod will be updated to
support future versions of Zen Cart, which will only support PHP 5.x.
Once more info is known hoping the new GC mod developer(s) can
elaborate on PHP 5.x and GC mod compatibility.
