The Google Chart Tools team has pushed a new release: September 26, 2011

The new release was aimed mainly at bug fixes, We will send additional email and update the documentation in the next few days with upcoming new features and some additional changes of this release.

As we wrote in a previous email, all corechart charts support a new option: “strictFirstColumnType” which is “false” by default. Setting this option to “true”, restricts the data table format, as described in this topic.

In three months, we intend to change the default value for this option to “true”. A short while after that, we will omit this option altogether. Therefore, you are strongly encouraged to test your code with the “strictFirstColumnType” option set to “true”, and follow the instructions in this topic.
