Running Cartographer standalone

Hi everyone!

Has anyone attempted to run cartographer using just the C++ libraries? (without ROS)? even if it appears counterintuitive, I want to create a not-ros-dependant example. A loop is needed and we need to supply with all of the data (like scan, odom, tf, point cloud)...

I'm not aware of any open source uses of Cartographer outside of the ROS libraries. However, I can confirm that it's been done :)

Were you able to find any examples or tutorials online? I also need the cartographer running without ROS support.
