Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS) Joint Practitioner/
Developer Webinar
EDXLSharp Open Source Project/CAP Construction Tool
Wednesday November 2, 2011 12:00 Noon Eastern
EDXLSharp is a free and open source implementation of the OASIS
Emergency Data Exchange Language (EDXL) family of standards, composed
of libraries, infrastructure components, and tools for working with
the EDXL standards, including exchanging data with the FEMA IPAWS
system.
During our next Webinar, Donald P. McGarry, Senior Lead Engineer with
the MITRE Corporation and member of the OASIS Emergency Management
Technical Committee, will provide an overview of the EDXLSharp project
and demonstrate the most recent addition, a CAP construction tool
which can be used to create CAP messages for the IPAWS, CMAS, and EAS
profiles.
This program should be of interest primarily to developers of IPAWS-
interoperable alert authoring software systems; however, practitioners
may benefit from the CAP demonstration and awareness of this resource.
Please feel free to extend this invitation to your colleagues and make
plans to join us via Live Meeting. As always, your questions and
comments are welcome.
IMPORTANT: The audio portion of the program will be delivered via your
computer speakers. The Live Meeting client must be used in order to
receive the audio and view the demonstration. Please review the
instructions available from:
http://www.fema.gov/pdf/emergency/ipaws/livemtginstruct.pdf
prior to the program.
Login to MS Live Meeting for visuals: The following login link can
only be used 30 minutes prior to the scheduled meeting time:

If you are unable to attend this month’s program due to other
commitments, a recording will be accessible from the FEMA Library.
