Adding a Google+ hangout to an event

Is there a way to create an event through the API that has a Google hangout associated with it?  If not, is it at least possible to update an existing event to add a hangout?

Hi, did you found a solution to this issue? I also have this problem right now wherein I would like to make a post request that creates a Google Calendar event with the "add a video call" option enabled. But I can't find the property name for this one in the docs.

So far as I know, you can't control this via the API.

See here for an article that shows how to achieve your desired result by setting a global flag on your calendar to automatically attach hangouts to every event:

Some people in the comments of this article say that they've had issues with this.

While I haven't seen an official word from Google about it, I can infer some answers from the documentation. We can see the property in the resource overview for events, but the property is listed as read-only. That's probably why it isn't listed in the request body options for both the insert and update methods.
