Dear Google-Pros,

we have big problems with Google Calendar.

Suddenly some of the secondary calendars under our account have disappeared. They have not been deleted by anybody and we also did not receive a notification by mail.

The calendars are not hidden and no longer appear in the list in the settings menu on any device.

Since we use the calendar for business scheduling, it is actually a very bad situation.

I found out when using https://developers.google.com/apis-explorer/#p/calendar/v3/calendar.calendarList.list?showDeleted=true&showHidden=true&fields=items(id%252Csummary%252CsummaryOverride)&_h=1& ... that there are calendar IDs listed without the summary /names. I suppose that are the ones I lost (btw without deleting them, they just disappeared from all devices).

Can I restore them?

Can someone help please?

I've never seen this problem before.  I would think that a calendar without a name would be unlikely to appear in a list of calendars.

Because you can see the calendar IDs, you may be able to use Google Apps Manager (GAM) to restore a name and/or description to the missing calendars.

GAM is a free command line utility that allows you to manage your Google Apps domain.  It runs on Windows, MacOS, and Linux.  It takes a bit of time to set up, but it will be time well spent (both for this particular problem and many, many others).  See the GAM wiki at Github - https://goo.gl/0pVAZL and my webpage for a few more resources: BrianGray.org/GAM.

If you're missing resource calendars originally created in the admin console, see this page of the GAM documentation - https://goo.gl/2Z6cpB

If you're missing secondary calendars created in a user account and then shared to other users, see this page - https://goo.gl/IGEI8P - especially the section Updating a Calendar in a User(s) List of Calendars.

One of the resources on my website is the slide deck I used for a recent conference presentation.  It will give you an idea of the depth and breadth of GAMs power.

Fee free to contact me if you run into trouble configuring GAM.
