I've seen some references to a script for importing delicious
bookmarks into google.

http://persistent.info/delicious2google/

However, I don't like the thought of giving my info out to a third
party and it seems to have a lot of problems. I have 1000+ bookmarks,
so I don't want to have to do everything by hand.

Are there any plans to officially support importing delicious
bookmarks into Google Bookmarks? It really is a trivial job that
shouldn't take you guys longer than one person for a day ;-) Delicious
even spits out a beautiful XML file that can be parsed.

Are there any plans of adding sharing support to bookmarks (send to a
friend), or publicly visible bookmarks? In delicious, I only rarely
have bookmarks that I want to make private. I typically want to make
everything public so that the people who are following me can see what
I've been looking at recently.

Have you looked at Simpy? It's got an option to import from
del.icio.us, though u/p are still needed. And it's got all those
features that you mentioned that Google Boomarks doesn't. Since you
are a del.icio.us user, you may enjoy reading

I don't care about simpy... it's a straight clone of delicious. I want
to be able to import delicious bookmarks into Google Bookmarks and I
would like to be able to share them with friends.

He suggested you use another service because Google Bookmarks will not
let you share with your friends. The closest Google comes to sharing
is either Google Reader or http://www.google.com/s2/sharing/stuff
