New issue 163 by gerardg...@gmail.com: Google Authenticator doesn't work
anymore on Android after update of the App
http://code.google.com/p/google-authenticator/issues/detail?id=163
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. I deleted the previous version because this wasn't valid anymore
2. Downloaded the Authenticator via Play on my SE Xperia Arc
3. I disabled 2 step verifaction and set it up again
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The generated code is outlined in grey. Usualy you should see a lock in
blue and also the code in blue. Nonetheless it keep stay grey; even after
setting up 2 way verifaction again and again.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
V 2.15 of Google Authenticator
Android V 2.3.4
Build: 4.0.2.A.0.62
Kernelversion: 2.6.32.9-perf

Please provide any additional information below.
- Timesettings are the same as the computer
- Again; deleting 2 way verification didn't help
- I restarted the phone too, even this didn't help
Please advice.
The color scheme is different for older versions of Android; the codes
there are displayed in grey, and only the ICS version displays the codes in
blue. (See the app's play store entry for screenshots of both UIs---

Have you tried logging in with the code displayed? Are the codes updating
themselves--- are you seeing the little timer to the right of the code, and
is the wedge in the circle getting smaller?
Many thanks for your fast reply. It seems indeed that I was too fast in
panic. It means that I think this issue has been resolved now.
The strange thing is I got an error in an earlier stage that the code was
incorrect. Probably there was some lag in the connection. Can't find a
plausible explanation.
About the color; I didn't noticed that there was a different. I missed
the "lock sign" so I was concerned that this wasn't okay.
