Can Apps script be used to get data from an AppSheet database? I would like to use the database instead of a Google sheet.

AppSheet is not natively supported in GAS (ie. there are no built-in or advanced service wrappers for AppSheet in GAS).

However, AppSheet does have an API:

And you can use Apps Script's UrlFetchApp service to interact with it.
