How to detect tables in Spreadsheets?

There are no classes representing tables or methods to extract them from sheets (although they could be referenced from their name). Even checking each columns type is a headache since type inference and data validation are 2 different concepts in this context. I am desperate for help as this is hindering me from automating my tasks...
