Hi Vincent

If you don't want to write a script to do it. Sheetgo will work and save you the work.It is a paid product. It will cost you $240 a year to import a csv file every week.

I publish a sheets addon called Sheetsie, which will also do the job for you. It costs $144 a year.

Here is the link if you want to try it.

Hi! I am trying to figure out the best way to import a CSV file to Google Sheets automatically. I receive a new CSV file weekly, and manual importing it to sheets every week is very time consuming. I came across the article below, as a way to automate this process. Please let me know your thoughts, and if this is a good method.

Best,

Hi Vincent

If you write your own script you are in complete control of the data. It is held in the spreadsheets you save it to. The only people who have access to the data are the people you share your spreadsheet with

The same applies if you use my add on SheetsIE. None of the data goes outside your domain; it is always entirely within your control. Again the only people who have access to your data are the people you share your spreadsheet with.

Sheetgo say the same on their website.

Hope that helps

Hi Martin,

Thank you for the quick response!

I am not against writing a script to do it, but are there security issues there? I want to ensure the files are safe, and not accessible by the public.

Hi Martin,

Well noted! I guess I was concerned about the database that will store the CSV, but I found out I can use Google Drive.

Do you have any recommendations as to where to begin, if I wanted to write my own script?

I will also check out your add-on!

Best,
Vincent Adipietro
