Hey everyone,

We at OWOX been working on something we think might be very useful for the Apps Script community – and would love your feedback.

As mostly data professionals and marketers ourselves, we kept running into the same challenge: getting data from platforms like Facebook Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn, Reddit, and others into Google Sheets / BigQuery without relying on paid 3rd part SaaS tools that might die one day and break the workflow (that happend already), or just compromise the privacy, or learning Python - which is not our core expertise...

So we built an open-source library of JavaScript-based connectors,  written entirely in Apps Script (As everyone either know it already, or can easily handle with some help from ChatGPT), that solve this exact problem.

  • It runs inside your own Google Sheets

  • No 3rd-party servers

  • no vendor lock-in for customization

  • All connector logic is visible and editable with just Apps Script.

  • Scheduled refreshes and full field selection from every field from the platform API

  • And it’s 100% free forever, no sign-up needed, no email collection, no credentials sharing.

We’re calling it OWOX Data Marts – and it’s available on GitHub here: https://github.com/OWOX/owox-data-marts

The idea is to empower data and marketing folks with a DIY alternative to Supermetrics and other SaaS ETL tools — but built with the flexibility and openness of Apps Script.

It already supports:

  • Facebook/Meta Ads

  • TikTok Ads

  • LinkedIn Ads & Pages

  • Reddit Ads

  • Bing Ads

  • And more are being added every week

We’d love for you to try it, use the templates, break things totally, leave the issues, and maybe even contribute (but not necessary).

We know this community has way deeper expertise in Apps Script than we do, and we’re very open to improvements, code reviews, or just hearing how others might extend it.

Let me know what you think, and if there’s a data source or use case you’d like us to prioritize.

Thanks for reading this and for everything this community has already taught us along the way.

Ievgen from OWOX
