Change goes into affect:
June 1, 2021
This is not surprising. As the official notice states, the change is to:
"bring our (Google's) policies more in line with industry standards. "
Google has undoubtedly realized that they can't keep offering unlimited free Drive storage forever.
Accounts have 15 GB of free storage across Gmail, Drive and Photos.
Changes are to Photos, Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drawings, Forms and Jamboard files.
I'm assuming that Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drawings, Forms and Jamboard files will no longer show as 0 bytes after June 1, 2021.
