Automated Lease Expiration Reminder Notification Script Implementation

Hello everyone,

I'm managing a Google Sheet named "Rental-Management" with multiple tabs, one of which is labeled "Lease Information."

I'm looking to develop a script that automatically sends me a reminder 60 days before the contract end date, which is located in column G. The email message should include the following information:

• Lease Number: Column A
• Unit Number: Column E
• Tenant Name: Column C
• Property Name: Column D

The email content should read: "This is a reminder that your lease is set to expire in 60 days."

How often do you open this spreadsheet? Daily? Weekly? Monthly?

I ask because there are two ways to set this up.. One that triggers the script to check the sheet on a time based trigger or more simply and reliably via an onOpen function that runs the script to check the sheet when the worksheet is opened.

It depends on the need , maybe every week or 10 days, i don't want the script to be triggered based on activity in the sheet , i want it to run automatically even if the sheet is not active

How many columns are on the sheet?

Which column holds the date??

Please show me the format that the date is in..

When I get on my computer tomorrow I will work on this for you..

the sheet has info starting colom A until M , the date is in colom G.

this is the date format  01/01/2024.

I have created a spreadsheet that has the necessary code and you can play around with it before you incorporated into your needs.

I have attached a video as a demonstration to show you how to set up the daily trigger to fire the function to run once a day.

The link to the sheet is in the description of the video. The sheet is read only and all you need to do is make a copy of it into your account and you will have complete editor access.

I don't want to wrongly assume you know how to code in app script.

If you can't and need me to incorporate the code into your sheet - I can do that for you.
